ABOUT ME

BIO

Kevin Woodhouse is a Chinese-Australian Saxophonist, Improviser, Composer, Educator, and Woodwind Multi-instrumentalist based in Naarm. Specialising in Jazz and Contemporary styles, Kevin is a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts and has been involved with some of the Conservatorium’s flagship ensembles including The Big Band, Masters and Apprentices and The VCA’s GRANT Scholarship Band. Kevin is regarded for his stylistic versatility and capabilities as a doubler across various wind instruments such as Flute, Clarinet, Oboe and their auxiliaries. This has seen him work extensively in musical theatre having played over 30 productions ranging from original works to award winning professional and community theatre shows. These include 'Young Frankenstein', 'Anastasia', 'Seussical', 'Boy from Oz', 'Oliver', 'The Wedding Singer', and Art’s Centre Melbourne’s 'Share House: The Musical'. He has also featured as solo Tenor Saxophone in Prokofiev’s – 'Romeo and Juliet Suite' performed by the University of Melbourne Medical Orchestra. In addition to his work in live and studio settings, Kevin is an enthusiastic educator tutoring flute, clarinet, saxophone and oboe privately as well as through high schools and private institutions.
